Homelander FAQ
Everything you wanted to ask about Homelander, the parody Church, the symbol, the quotes, and whether any of it is real.
This page answers the most common questions fans ask about Homelander, about The Boys, and about the parody Church of Homelander built on this site. If you arrived here looking for the basics — who he is, what the religion stands for, whether the cult is real, where to find quotes, what the symbol means — start at the top and work down. If you want long-form essays, the Doctrine and Symbol pages go deeper.
Who is Homelander?+
Homelander is the central fictional character of the Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. He is the leader of the superhero team The Seven, the most powerful person in the show's world, and the embodiment of what happens when a superhero is also a celebrity, a corporation, and an only child of unchecked power.
Is the Church of Homelander a real religion?+
No. The Church of Homelander is a fan-made cinematic parody site. There is no congregation, no clergy, no theology, no deity. The site is satire — it borrows the visual language of organised faith to comment on celebrity worship, strongman politics, and the cult of the unchecked protector.
Is Homelander a cult leader?+
In the show, increasingly yes — that is one of the central themes of later seasons. Homelander surrounds himself with adoring fans, demands loyalty, punishes doubt, and uses the language of family and faith to consolidate power. The parody Church of Homelander takes that arc and writes the liturgy he never quite says out loud on screen.
What is the Doctrine of Homelander?+
The Doctrine is the four parody tenets the Church is built on: Strength Above Weakness, Loyalty Above Doubt, Order Above Chaos, and Glory Above Fear. The full long-form Doctrine essay lives on the /doctrine page.
How do I take the Oath of Homelander?+
Visit the /oath page, read the short pledge, and tap Take the Oath. Nothing happens. That is the point of the joke — the oath is a moment, not a contract, and the Church has no way of enforcing anything against anyone, ever.
How do I join the Church of Homelander?+
Open the front page, scroll to the Enlist section, and drop your email into the registry. You'll be added to a small mailing list of fellow fans of The Boys. You can leave whenever you want — devotion that costs nothing also leaves nothing behind.
Can I tithe to the Church?+
Yes — there is an optional Ko-fi link on the site. Any contribution goes toward keeping the site online and adding new content. The Church does not require a tithe. The Church barely requires you.
Is this site affiliated with The Boys, Amazon, or Sony?+
No. This is an unaffiliated fan-made parody. It is not endorsed by, connected to, or licensed by Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television, the show's creators, the comic's authors, or any cast member. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
What does the Homelander symbol mean?+
The site's emblem is a stylised H inside a halo of light. The H is for Homelander. The halo is the joke and the warning. The /symbol page goes deeper into the design, including how the parody emblem differs from the official Homelander logo owned by Amazon and Sony.
What does the official Homelander logo mean?+
The official Homelander logo from the show uses a stylised H along with the gold-and-red cape iconography. It exists as a piece of in-universe branding for Vought International's most marketable hero — sanctified power, packaged as a corporate identity. Our /symbol page breaks down how the parody emblem on this site reads that branding and remixes it.
Where can I find Homelander quotes?+
The /quotes page collects sixteen in-character, fan-written Homelander quotes in the cadence of his on-screen monologues. They are free to share for edits, captions, and wallpapers. They are not transcribed dialogue from the show.
Why does this site exist?+
Because The Boys is excellent satire and Homelander is one of the most interesting parody-religion candidates ever written. The site is fan art, executed as a cinematic worship site, made by fans for fans.
